Class Actions

As part of the firm’s extensive trial experience, Polsinelli Shughart PC has both defended clients from national classes and represented significant class actions — going up against some of the most acclaimed law firms in the country. We have an average of 25 ongoing class action cases each year and have represented literally hundreds of clients in these cases.

Our firm has defended employers in class actions alleging racial discrimination and hostile work environments. We have represented putative and certified classes in statewide actions against major retailers and manufacturers. We have sought dismissals of class actions involving federal regulators and state consumer protection acts.

Major clients in class action cases have included the trucking and transportation industry, construction, banking, and insurance, to name a few. Our experience with state and federal courts, opinions and reported decisions means that we know when to pursue arbitration or other means of evaluation and early disposition of potentially expensive litigation.

We also know how to win the most challenging “bet-the-company” cases.

Our firm’s trial experience, connections to national experts and knowledge of multi-district litigation is a competitive advantage in the defense of national classes. We have the credentials to bring a powerful, experienced team of experts to the game:

  • Five of our lawyers are Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, which recognizes less than 1% of attorneys across the country.
  • Three former judges now members of the firm.

With Polsinelli Shughart, the risks of your class action case will be calculated, well researched and represented through the most advanced litigation tools and resources.
